Think of an obstacle you had to overcome in your life. Maybe a sickness in your family or yourself, losing a job or going through a breakup. How did you make it through those challenging times? What helped you through these big obstacles in life, can also help you during a challenging workout.   Whether it’s your first time stepping into a PBX class or you are embarking on your 100th class, we’ve all heard that little voice whispering to us telling us “I can’t” do another lunge or “I can’t” push through for another 10 seconds. Yes, you can! Change “I can’t” to “I can” with these five ways to build your inner strength.  

1. FOCUS ON THE MOVEMENT 

    Concentrate on each movement, take your time you don’t have to get every movement perfect the first time you try. Start slow and build your strength by consistently coming to class. Find your focus and use your strong body to strengthen your mind and soul. Feel each muscle group working, you won’t be here long, breathe through the burn.



    2. USE YOUR OUTER STRENGTH FOR MOTIVATION

    Your body is strong don’t let your mind tell you any differently. You may have past injuries or carried a child, remember how your body recovered when it was being challenged the most. Remind yourself how far you’ve come, you can power through. Eat healthy, smile, exercise regularly and sleep. Being physically active can help feed your mind with positive energy. Just keep moving.
     

    3. FIND YOUR PASSION

    You have found a workout that you are passionate about. If you’ve already started to see the physical results you know why you keep coming back. Set a routine, schedule your workouts just like a business meeting for work. Block out time on your calendars a few times a week so you don’t miss a workout. You are more likely to stick to a workout program that you enjoy and that consistently challenges you. Here at PBX we offer a variety of different classes to work all your muscle groups for a full body workout. Following the PBX method, each of our instructors design their own classes and playlists to keep their clients motivated. For 50 minutes you’re taking care of yourself, you are away from your children, your job and everything else. Finding time for you will help connect you to your inner strength.

    4. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF  

    You’ve come this far don’t give up now. Put effort into yourself, engage yourself in physical activities, be persistent. You are in control of your mind and your body. Can you sit a little lower in that squat? Can you hold that plank for five more seconds? Where does your mind wonder off to when you are pushing through a hard workout? Remember to breathe, inhaling and exhaling. Tell yourself you can do anything for a minute or less. Thank yourself for showing up to class and being present. Give yourself 10 to 20 classes to really feel and see a difference. You will feel stronger than you ever have.  


     
    5. STAY POSITIVE   

    Surround yourself with a group of supportive friends. Get rid of any negativity in your life or any person or thing that is bringing you down. When you surround yourself with positive people great things start to happen. Here at PBX our small class sizes of only 8 people per class will give you the one-on-one attention you deserve before, during and after class. This also gives you the opportunity to engage with other class members and start building your tribe to lift you up and keep you motivated. Most of all though just have fun.
